We have many exciting ideas hatching, please follow us and witness our journey!
How do you promote sustainability?
Sustainbility has been very important in our personal lives as well as our business. It factors into how we design and curate products, how we operate our company and how we send out each package from our doorsteps to yours.
Our first principle is always to use as little plastic as possible. For example, we always try to source clothing with as much natural fibre percentage as possible to minimize the impact of microplastics entering our waters. We also use paper packaging whenever we can to reduce the amount of unnecessary soft plastic waste used.
Our second priniciple is that we will promote reusability whenever we can. For example, our business cards are designed in bookmark dimension so you can use them while reading. Our enamel pin packaging are made to be flippable so they can be used both as protective cover and a display stand. We also reuse shipping materials such as bubble wrap, cardboard, bubbler mailer and tissue paper.
Lastly, we care very much about our supply chain, and work hard for it to be as transparent and streamlined as possible. This is one of the reasons why the only overseas suppliers we work with are from Guangdong and Zhejiang provinces in China. Because our producer Lisa's native language is Chinese, she is able to communicate well with our suppliers directly to make sure high quality products are made with minimum waste and good industry practices, while getting it delivered with the shortest distance travelled. This also cuts down on the amount of shipping and the number of middle-men companies we have to deal with.
We are always trying to assess the situation and make the best decisions we can with the limited resources we have as a small business. We're always improving so if you have any questions and suggestions, please reach out, we're always looking to new ideas!
